Deal signed to cooperate in restoring forests, pastures

Jordan’s non-government organization WADI for Sustainable Ecosystems Development and the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) signed a 3-year agreement to cooperate in restoring forests and pastures. Under the agreement, collaborations will be boosted in agricultural research, particularly for the restoration of forests and pastures, to fight climate change and maintain long-term water security, according to the AARINENA. Moreover, the deal stipulates building partnerships in training, and technical and economic advisory services and support, as well as holding conferences, seminars, and workshops. The two parties shall also cooperate in water harvesting and education on water rationalization and promote support for scientific research that helps achieve water security.
