Services sector discusses energy strategy 2025-2050, priorities, policies of national energy vision


Services and Social Welfare Sector held on Tuesday a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, and Sector Head, Hussein Maqbouli, to implement the directives of the President of the Political Council regarding the necessity of providing electricity to every household at the lowest costs and implementing the National Energy Vision.

The meeting focused on discussing the Energy Strategy for the years 2025-2050, reviewing the priorities and general policies of the National Energy Vision.

It touched on many important topics, most notably the importance of energy security, as well as the national energy strategy for the aforementioned period, including plans and policies to ensure financing, increase electricity production, and improve the network and distribution.

The meeting stressed the importance of joint work between the services and social solidarity sector and the Ministry of Electricity, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to prepare the national energy vis
ion for the period 2025-2050 .

The services sector stressed the need to support the Orphan Development Foundation and provide it with the necessary resources, enabling it to enhance its important humanitarian and social role in sponsoring orphans, which is also considered one of the duties urged by the true Islamic religion.

Maqbouli also reviewed the arrangements for the Infrastructure Investment Conference, by following up on the current arrangements for organizing and holding the conference.

He stressed the necessity of preparing a vision, a strategic plan, and an executive matrix for energy, and starting work directly, and forming committees and technical work teams in implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat.

Maqbouli pointed out that the meeting comes within the framework of the keenness of the political leadership and the government, represented by the services sector, to continue efforts and work to develop the electricity sector and ensure
the provision of electricity of the highest quality and lowest cost.

He also stressed the need to strengthen joint work to achieve the desired goals and objectives related to the energy sector and other sectors affiliated with the services sector.

Maqbouli reiterated the services and social solidarity sector’s keenness and continuous endeavor to improve the quality of services for citizens, and meet their aspirations in this aspect, in addition to promoting sustainable development in Yemen.
