Romanian envoy visits National Agricultural Research Center

Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), Nizar Haddad, on Wednesday discussed with the Romanian Ambassador, Nicolae Comanescu, the scientific and agricultural cooperation and needs of the Romanian market for Jordanian products.

During the meeting, Haddad underlined the “rich” Jordanian agricultural sector and the diversity of its high-quality products to meet needs of the Romanian market of vegetables, olive oil, and dates.

The NARC’s laboratories examine quality of seeds, fertilizers, vegetables, fruits, fodder, olive oil and honey, which is an important procedure for Jordanian and Romanian exporters alike, and helps facilitate the exporting process, he pointed out.

For his part, the Romanian envoy pointed to the “long-standing” relations between the two countries, adding his country is looking forward to enhancing joint cooperation in the agricultural fields with Jordan.

The ambassador also toured the center’s various departments, and praised the efforts made in developing research laboratories that focus on quality control for some agricultural products.
