Observatory detects 3.4-magnitude earthquake south of Jordan

The Jordanian Seismological Observatory at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources detected on Tuesday an earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale in Wadi Araba, south of the Kingdom. Ghassan Sweidan, president of the observatory, stated that the earthquake recorded at 8:29 a.m. occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, indicating that it was a weak to moderate earthquake that most residents did not feel.
