Joramco offers 25 training scholarships in aircraft maintenance
Joramco, the Amman based MRO and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), announced 25 training for employment (STE) opportunities to Jordanian students interested in aircraft maintenance at the Joramco Academy, with a total cost of $1 million.
In an interview with “Petra,” CEO of Joramco, Jeff Wilkinson, said the initiative provides scholarship beneficiaries with vocational training over a four-year period, divided equally on theory and practice tracks two years each.
After the program ends, the alumni are graduated as qualified aircraft maintenance technicians licensed locally and internationally after passing the exam at the end of training period, adding the company will employ alumni who have successfully passed the training requirements.
The initiative, according to Wilkinson, embodies the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II to create jobs for young people by providing various vocational training opportunities.
On the scholarship prerequisites, he said the initiative targets high school certificate holders, with no maximum age limit required to apply for the scholarships, but preferably within the 18-30 years old range.
Joramco will host an Open Day event, where all students interested in the scholarship can get more details about the program and apply for this opportunity, he said.
The Open Day will take place on Monday February 17, 2020 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm in the Amman Hall in Al Hussein Youth City.
