Education Ministry warns private schools over detaining high school students seats cards

Amman, The Ministry of Education on Monday warned a number of private schools that had booked their high school “Tawjihi” students’ seats cards.

The ministry issued Monday a written warning to these schools, the Ministry’s Secretary General Sami Salaytah told Petra, adding that these schools’ license will be withdrawn in the event of repeating this action.

Salaytah stressed that no private school in any case may detain students’ seats cards or prevent them from taking the General Secondary Examination for any reason or excuse.

Students and their parents had complained earlier that some private schools detained the high school exam’s seats cards to force them to pay their school fees, an action of which the ministry considered illegal and rejected.
