ACC issues over 25,000 origin certificates in 8 months
Amman, The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) issued 25,836 certificates of origin in the first eight months of 2019, compared to 30,308 certificates during the same period of 2018, a decline of 14.8 percent.
Despite the drop, JD711 million worth of goods were exported through the chamber, compared to JD636 million during the same period last year, constituting an increase of 12 percent.
According to statistics, certificates of origin were issued to many countries, including Saudi Arabia who topped the list with 5,237, the United Arab Emirates with 4,234, Iraq with 1,399, Egypt with 588, and Lebanon with 480 certificates.
During the first eight months of this year, exports to Iraq amounted to JD167 million, the United Arab Emirates were at JD114 million, Lebanon at JD66 million, Saudi Arabia at JD57, followed by Egypt at JD44 million.
Exports of foreign products “re-export” amounted to JD396 million, followed by agricultural products at JD106 million, industrial products at JD72 million, followed by Arab products at JD40 million.
