Trump demands prosecution of ex-FBI chief
Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump Friday accused the FBI director he fired, James Comey, of leaking classified information, saying he should be prosecuted for lying to Congress under oath, local media reported.
In a new memoir due to hit the bookshelves on Tuesday, Comey said Trump reminded him of a mafia boss who demanded absolute loyalty, saw the entire world against him and lied about everything, reports said.
“James Comey is a proven leaker and liar. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did until he was, in fact, fired,” Trump wrote in a Twitter tirade.
“He leaked classified information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under oath.” Comey said the president was also obsessed with the alleged existence of a video in which Trump is accompanied by Russian prostitutes in 2013.
