PM inaugurates textile projects in northern governorates
Governorates Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Monday laid the foundation stone of two garment factories in Arjan in the Ajloun Governorate and Souf in the Jerash Governorate as part of the government’s development and job-creation strategy in the Kingdom’s various regions.
Mulki also inaugurated a health centre and a secondary school in the town of Housha in the Mafraq governorate and also met elders and local leaders in the northeastern Badia region, part of field tours the government had carried out to check first-hand on the needs of local communities.
The apparel factory in Ajloun, which is being launched by a local manufacturing company, will provide 250 jobs, mostly for women, in the area, one of the poorest in the Kingdom.
The Prime Minister said the government is seeking to find jobs for Jordanians in various vocations, adding that the government had worked in a partnership with the private sector to uplift industrial and economic sectors and launch projects to provide income for job seekers, as well as support small enterprises and attract investment.
The clothing factory in Souf, an Indian investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and the Development and Employment Fund, will create about 500 jobs for young men and women in the area.
