Permanent electronic expo to serve Jordanian, Turkish investors
Amman, Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Khalil Haj Tawfiq, Tuesday said that the ACC had signed an agreement with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce to establish a permanent electronic expo.
The expo will serve as an “electronic platform” in Arabic, Turkish and English languages to provide data to Jordanian and Turkish traders, industrialists, businessmen and investors, Tawfiq said in a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to the Kingdom, Murat Karagoz.
The ACC has started taking steps to establish the platform, as it will be the first of its kind in the world in terms that it serves the different sectors of a national economy: commercial, industrial, agricultural and service.
He pointed out that early next year will witness an economic movement with the Turkish side in coordination with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce through organizing a “Jordanian Economic Week” and inviting Turkish businessmen and investors to the Kingdom to familiarize them with the available investment opportunities.
The ambassador underscored Ankara’s keenness on boosting investments in Jordan, especially in the Jordanian agricultural sector to export to Turkey, in addition to increasing the number of tourists coming to Jordan, and the necessity of logistical cooperation and the importance of Aqaba Special Economic Zone for Turkish investments.
