No coronavirus infections recorded in Irbid for fifth day
No infections with the COVID-19 disease were recorded in Irbid, the Kingdom’s second most-populated governorate, by Tuesday afternoon, for a fifth consecutive day, governor Riyad Shayab told Petra.
He further said that more than 1,000 swab tests collected since yesterday came back negative, noting that these samples were taken from first-, second- and third- degree contacts of confirmed cases.
In Ramtha, to the northeast of Irbid where a week-long lockdown was lifted yesterday, no COVID-19 cases were recorded for a seventh day in a row, Shayab said.
The governor urged the public to continue adherence to infection control and safety measures, stressing that zero infections in the northern governorate should encourage stronger compliance with health protocols and advisories.
