King visits army’s general command

His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Thursday visited the General Command of JAF.

His Majesty was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen., Mahmoud Freihat. The King and Friehat discussed a number of issues related to the armed forces’ operational, training and logistics fields.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments on the northern borders of the Kingdom, the preparedness of JAF and the security forces to protect the borders and deal with any developments or any threat to the security of the homeland and the citizen.

Freihat briefed His Majesty on the preparedness of JAF along the Jordanian borders and their readiness to deal with any attempts to breach the border by terrorist groups that are being fought and chased near the Kingdom’s northern border.

The King expressed his great pride in the armed forces and the security services and his appreciation of the efforts they have made in defending the homeland, as well as the humanitarian and relief efforts they have recently carried out in providing medical services and delivering aid to Syrians inside the Syrian territories.

His Majesty also voiced his trust in the advanced and distinguished level the armed forces has reached in terms of preparation, arming and training.
