Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday received a delegation of United States Senate and House of Representatives staff at Al Husseiniya Palace. The meeting, which also included His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, focused on enhancing the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and emphasized the crucial role the US plays in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, discussions during the meeting highlighted the need for immediate reinstatement of the Gaza ceasefire and the resumption of aid flow. King Abdullah II expressed concerns about the ongoing escalation in the West Bank and the violations of holy sites in Jerusalem. He reiterated Jordan’s steadfast opposition to any attempts to displace Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, underscoring the importance Jordan places on maintaining strong diplomatic ties with the United States.
