Jordan, India sign educational memorandum of understanding
Jordan Media Institute (JMI) and Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for academic and educational cooperation.
The memorandum, signed during the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to India last week, eyes to enhance media cooperation and to kick off joint enterprises, in addition to launching academic and scientific activities, exchanging scientific materials and publications, and executing programs to boost role of media in the development efforts.
JMI’s Dean, Bassim al-Tubasi, said this MoU comes within a wider plan to open up to other lead institutions in the media education and training worldwide, in a bid to build a network of relations among students and faculty members, and to carry out relevant programs.
JMI embarked on its ties with the IIMC since two years ago driven by its prominent world reputation, especially its efforts to provide scholarships for its alumni and its India-based training initiatives, al-Tubasi added.
The memorandum lately signed in New Delhi will take effect for a 3-year period and is renewable upon the consent of both parties.
IIMC, a government-funded media centre of learning, established in 1965, offers Diploma Course in Development Journalism for developing countries, and sets technology-driven criteria for media education to build a knowledge-based community.
