Investment minister meets Singaporean delegation
Amman, Minister of State for Investment Affairs, and President of the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC), Muhannad Shehadeh, said Wednesday Jordan is looking forward to promoting and expanding its relations with Singapore, especially in the economic and investment fields.
Shehadeh’s gave his remarks during a meeting with a delegation of Singaporean businessmen, attended by Singapore’s non-resident Ambassador to Jordan Shamsher Zaman.
The meeting highlighted investment opportunities in the Kingdom in the sectors of industry, information technology, tourism, health care and energy.
Shehadeh said the Jordanian government has carried out key economic reforms that have led to important developments in the economic fields, in terms of laws and legislation as well as signing Arab and international agreements that have maintained the development of the Jordanian economy.
The minister briefed the delegation on the investment environment in Jordan and encouraging incentives for investors backed by political and security stability and good growth rates, in addition to the well-trained human resources the competitive level of wages.
In turn, the Singaporean delegation lauded the strong relations between Jordan and Singapore, stressing Singapore’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Jordan in economic and investment fields, to serve common interests.
