Interior minister, Italian counterpart discuss region, counter-terrorism efforts
Amman-Interior Minister Ghaleb al Zu’bi, on Thursday, said Amman and Rome enjoy an advanced level of cooperation, namely, in political and security spheres.
Al-Zu’bi made the remarks as he met with his Italian counterpart, Marco Minniti, and discussed with him a wide range of issues including the U.S. decision over Jerusalem, the bilateral ties and the Syrian refugee crisis and its impacts on the Kingdom’s economy.
Al-Zu’bi said Jordan maintained its security and stability despite regional turmoil based on a wise Hashemite leadership and people’s awareness, and stressed the need to promote bilateral cooperation, in the fields of combating terrorism, crimes and exchanging information.
Commenting on the U.S. decision over Jerusalem, the Italian minister said his country fully supports Jordan’s stance towards this issue, adding the decision will enhance the regional turmoil.
He stressed Jordan and Italy share a wide range of common values, mainly, moderation, coexistence and acceptance of others.
