FM, Yemeni counterpart discuss ties, region
Amman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, on Thursday, met with his Yemeni counterpart Khaled Al-Yamani, who is currently visiting the Kingdom.
The two diplomats discussed bilateral ties and agreed to convene the Joint Higher Committee’s meetings, in order to promote ties in various fields of cooperation.
In a joint press conference, Safadi reiterated Jordan’s stance that supports the Yemeni people and efforts aiming at ending their crisis in accordance with the 2216 Security Council resolution, the Gulf Initiative and the outcome of the National Dialogue Conference.
Responding to a question on hosting Yemeni negotiations, Safadi said that Jordan will study the request in accordance with its stance that backs any efforts aiming at ending the Yemeni crisis.
Yemeni top diplomat said that he is conveying a letter to the King from Yemeni President Abdurbo Mansour Hadi on political developments, describing the Kingdom as the strategic depth to his country.
