The FM also urged the international community and the EU to take “practical” steps that reflect the rejection of any Israeli annexation decision in an “effective” manner.
The EU’s role and positions, Safadi noted, are “essential and central” to protecting international law and peace, especially during this stage in which all peaceful efforts face the threat of complete collapse.
On the EU’s refugee alleviation efforts, Safadi thanked the EU and its countries for the support extended to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), and stressed the importance of ensuring the necessary financial support that the agency needs.
In the context of discussing regional developments, Safadi stressed the importance of forming the new Iraqi government, headed by Mustafa Kazemi, and the need to support it in its efforts to protect Iraq and its interests and serve aspirations of the brotherly Iraqi people.
Safadi stressed the need to support Iraq in the process of reconstruction and protection of its security, stability and sovereignty.
The FM affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance the distinguished Jordanian-European partnership in all fields.
The EU ambassadors, for their part, stressed the importance of partnership with the Kingdom, and praised its efforts in facing the Covid-19 pandemic.
