AstraZeneca vaccine helped reduce COVID-19 fatalities, infections-JFDA

General Director of Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), Nizar Mheidat, said AstraZeneca vaccine has “proven successful” in reducing hospitalizations and deaths resulting from Covid-19 infections.

In a press statement on Thursday, he said several countries continue to use the jab, such as Britain, Australia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, among other nations, adding that incidences of blood clots did not exceed (0.0000015) percent, which is “a very low” rate that does not require taking any measures to suspend its use.

In jordan, 144,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were administered so far, and the JFDA did not receive reports of any “unexpected” drug-related side effects, he announced.

In this context, all the citizens’ reports sent to the JFDA via the link dedicated to this end showed that side effects were ” expected and natural,” he pointed out.
