Arab League, UN discuss Palestinian-Israeli conflict developments

Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Aboul-Gheit and Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov held talks over the phone Wednesday on the latest developments on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The top diplomats saw eye to eye on the importance of supporting the two-state solution to settle the Palestine-Israel conflict and establish a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

There was no daylight between the two when it came to eschewing an escalation of the conflict as they agreed to uphold the latest arrangements that had been reached between Israel and Hamas.
