American University of Madaba hosts USAID director

The American University of Madaba hosted Director the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Jordan, Jim Barnhart.

Barnhart gave a lecture on the USAID’s role in the development of Jordan in main fields, including health, education, water, and the empowerment of women and youth, noting the importance of the Jordanian role in the region’s stability.

He lauded the Jordanian humanitarian role in opening its borders to receive refugees, where they’d have a safe space, and their needs are efficiently met by the Jordanian government and peoples.

He added that the American University of Madaba is one of the few universities in the region that operates through renewable energy resources.

A part of the lecture was devoted to discuss achieving a sustainable environment in Jordan.
