King Abdullah II Honors Jordanian Achievements on 80th Independence Day

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday awarded Royal medals to Jordanian institutions and individuals in celebration of the country's 80th Independence Day, acknowledging their significant contributions to Jordan's development and progress.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ceremony at Al Husseiniya Palace included the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, alongside other Royal family members and senior officials. The national football team received the Order of Al Istiqlal (Independence) of the First Degree for their historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup and their performance in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.

The Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, under Queen Rania's initiative, was honored with the same order for supporting young adult orphans beyond care homes, aiding their education and future building. The Association of Banks in Jordan also received recognition for its contribution to the banking sector and financial stability.

Muhannad Hijazi was awarded for his efforts in promoting good governance and integrity, while the Speaking Eco-School project at Al Rajaa School for the Deaf was recognized for empowering deaf students in environmental initiatives. Zaid Al Kilani received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the First Degree for his work in promoting Islamic values and moderation.

Other honorees included author Hazza Barari for his cultural contributions, Father Yousef Francis Yassa for his humanitarian work, and the Jordan Relief Campaign for its community-driven relief efforts in Gaza. Architect Ammar Khammash, Sahar Aloul, journalist Jomana Karadsheh, tech pioneer Amjad Masad, pianist Karim Saeed, and karate athlete Mohammad Al Jafari were also celebrated for their notable achievements in their respective fields.
