Jordan-Iraq Conference Promotes Regional Collaboration in Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity

Amman: The Jordan-Iraq Conference on Investment in Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity commenced in Amman, emphasizing the need for enhanced regional cooperation to advance technological progress and bolster cyber defenses.

According to Jordan News Agency, the event opened with remarks by former Prime Minister Abdulraouf Rawabdeh, who highlighted the urgency of adapting to rapid scientific and technological advancements. He urged professionals, especially the youth, to prioritize digital transformation and cybersecurity across various sectors to meet the demands of the modern era.

The conference gathered significant figures, including the Iraqi Minister of Trade, senior officials, and business leaders from both Jordan and Iraq. Conference Chair Shankul Qadri welcomed the attendees, characterizing the gathering as an exceptional academic platform for exchanging ideas and proposals. Qadri underscored the strategic importance of investing in digital transformation and cybersecurity to establish Jordan and Iraq as regional leaders in these fields.

Additional contributions came from representatives of the Iraqi Journalists’ Syndicate, the League of Arab States, and other experts. They stressed the critical need for cross-border collaboration on digital and cybersecurity issues. The conference featured three main sessions that focused on national policies and legislation to enhance the investment climate, women’s leadership in artificial intelligence, and strategies for strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure and defense architecture.

Concluding the conference, participants issued several key recommendations. These included promoting public-private partnerships to develop integrated digital ecosystems, establishing a joint national cybersecurity center for the banking sector, and enhancing regional cooperation through expertise exchange and shared cybersecurity best practices. Additionally, they advocated for adopting advanced technologies like artificial intelligence for cyber threat prediction and modern encryption methods to safeguard data.

The conference signified a crucial step toward deepening cooperation between Jordan and Iraq in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
