FM Discusses Gaza Ceasefire, Regional Stability with U.S. Counterpart

Washington: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held talks in Washington with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, focusing on efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions touched on developments in Gaza and the West Bank, with both sides emphasizing the importance of ending the escalation and supporting efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable truce.

Safadi also stressed the need to preserve the ceasefire in Sweida, southern Syria, crediting the United States with playing a key role in reaching the agreement.

In a post on platform X, Safadi said the meeting included a detailed exchange on enhancing bilateral cooperation and regional peace efforts. He expressed appreciation for what he described as a “deep and constructive” dialogue with his American counterpart.

Safadi reiterated Jordan’s gratitude for continued U.S. support and affirmed the two countries’ shared commitment to promoting stability and security across the region.
