Brussels: European Union foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas said Tuesday she had told her Israeli counterpart that the Israeli army must “stop killing” civilians at humanitarian aid distribution points in Gaza. In a post on X, Kallas emphasized the indefensibility of the ongoing violence, stating, “The killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible.”
According to Jordan News Agency, Kallas reiterated to Israel’s foreign minister the necessity of ensuring the flow of aid. She stressed that “the Israeli army must stop killing people at distribution sites.” Kallas also highlighted that “all options are on the table” if Israel fails to fulfill its obligations.
Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed her views in a post on X, underscoring that civilians should never be targeted. She described the images from Gaza as unbearable and insisted, “This must stop now.” President von der Leyen called on Israel to meet its responsibilities.
