5 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli forces in Jerusalem

Ramallah, A number of Palestinians were injured early Sunday in

clashes erupted with the Israeli occupation forces in Salah Eddin street in the occupied city of Jerusalem,

a Palestinian source said.

A statement by the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that at least 5 Palestinians were injured

with sound bomb shrapnel, as Israeli soldiers tried to suppress demonstrations took place in

in Salah Aden street in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The demonstrations took place to protest against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and also against U.S. Vice President Mike Pence visit to the region, it added.

During the protests, the Israeli soldiers arrested the Palestinian youth, Abed Barbar, and took him to a detention center in Jerusalem, the PRCS statement added.
