Amman: The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) for exporting goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries increased by 20.6% during the first two months of this year, compared to the same period in 2025.

According to Jordan News Agency, obtained by “Petra,” the value of the ACC’s certificates of origin in the past two months reached approximately JD273 million, compared to JD226 million for the same period last year. Meanwhile, the number of the ACC’s certificates of origin during the same period reached 4,480, compared to 4,528 certificates during the same period last year, marking a slight decrease of 1.1%.

Statistical data revealed that Iraq topped the list of importing countries in terms of the value of the ACC’s certificates of origin during the same period at a value of JD103 million and 437 certificates, and Switzerland followed with JD62 million and 13 certificates. As for the value of other certificates, Syria ranked 3rd with about JD15 million and 9
88 certificates, followed by Egypt with JD13 million and 128 certificates, and then the United Arab Emirates with JD12.9 million and 420 certificates.

In terms of product types, exports during the same period amounted to JD105 million for foreign products (goods of foreign origin). JD36 million went for industrial products, JD35 million for Arab products (goods of Arab origin), JD20 million for agricultural products, and the remaining amount went for other products.

Amman: Captain Daifallah Al-Farajat, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), announced that air traffic at Jordanian airports is gradually stabilizing. On Friday, Jordanian airports handled 62 incoming flights, while there were 79 departures across the country’s airports.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Farajat elaborated that the current air traffic volume stands at approximately 60 percent of the normal operational capacity of Jordanian airports. He stressed that technical and operational staff are fully prepared to ensure the safe and smooth movement of air traffic.

Al-Farajat further mentioned that some airlines, which had earlier suspended their operations, are now taking steps to coordinate and gradually resume services to Jordan, indicating a strong confidence in the readiness and stability of the Jordanian airspace.

In terms of other airlines, Al-Farajat pointed out that carriers from countries impacted by current regional conditions are still suspending flights, while some are operating a limited number of flights based on ongoing assessments of the geopolitical situation.

Amman: The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has launched a package of recreational, environmental, and sports projects aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life and expanding green spaces in the capital, as part of the municipality’s celebrations of Amman City Day, which falls on March 2 each year.

According to Jordan News Agency, Chairman of the municipality’s committee Yousef Shawarbeh inaugurated the Uqba ibn Nafi Park in the Zahran area, which was established on an area of 3,200 dunums as part of the municipality’s strategic plan for 2022-2026 to increase green cover and urban spaces. The municipality said the park includes a children’s playground and a basketball court, as well as 1,000 trees and shrubs, a modern irrigation network, and a lighting system powered by environmentally friendly solar energy.

The statement added that Shawarbeh also inaugurated the Climate Academy building in Maysaloun Park near Hussein Refugee Camp. The facility was established with support from the Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees through the Mayors Migration Council (MMC) to raise environmental awareness among younger generations, enhance their understanding of climate change challenges, and encourage them to adopt sustainable practices through innovative educational and interactive programs while also promoting social integration for refugees and supporting Amman’s ability to adapt to climate change.

Shawarbeh reviewed rehabilitation works at Maysaloun Park, which spans four dunums, including the planting of 1,200 trees and shrubs, the installation of a modern irrigation network, the rehabilitation of a five-a-side football pitch, the construction of a children’s playground, and the fencing of the entire park.

In a separate development, the Amman mayor inaugurated Uhud Park in the Manakher neighborhood in the Uhud area, as part of the municipality’s strategic plan for 2022-2026 aimed at improving environmental conditions, expanding green spaces and urban areas, creating sustainable environmental spaces, and providing natural recreational outlets for residents in southern Amman. The park, which was established on an area of 14 dunums, includes several facilities for visitors, including a five-a-side football field and seating areas equipped with designated barbecue grills.

The municipality planted 1,000 trees in the park and installed modern irrigation networks and a lighting system powered by environmentally friendly solar energy, in addition to fencing the entire park. The opening of Uhud Park marks the second major project implemented by the municipality in the area after the inauguration of Princess Salma Park last year, in response to residents’ needs in southern Amman and as part of its plan to strengthen the city’s network of green spaces.

Shawarbeh also sponsored the launch of the “Amman Neighborhoods” project at King Abdullah II Gardens in Muqablain, which includes the establishment of 14 advanced centers for the Greater Amman Municipality’s “Wa’edi,” promising players, football program, distributed across different areas of the city. The “Wa’edi” centers, which operate under the Facilities and Sports Programs Department, aim to provide free sports services to children aged 8 to 14 in the local community in line with the regulations of the Jordan Football Association and to supply clubs and national teams with talented players.

Shawarbeh said the inauguration of these projects reflects the municipality’s commitment to making Amman a sustainable and environmentally friendly city, contributing to improving citizens’ quality of life across all areas by enhancing the services provided and creating safe and comfortable urban spaces for residents. He added that the municipality seeks to provide a suitable and motivating sports environment that meets the needs of all segments of the local community, as well as to promote the concept of sports so that practicing athletic activities becomes a way of life, especially among young people.

Amman: Assistant Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Hala Al-Jarrah, emphasized the significance of empowering women and youth to enhance their roles in public life, highlighting their contribution as a fundamental pillar in Jordan’s journey toward modernization and comprehensive development.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Jarrah made these remarks during her participation in an event celebrating success stories from the “Women in the Local Space” and “Youth Media Incubator” projects. The event, organized by the We Rise Center for Sustainable Development, was attended by various community and media stakeholders.

Al-Jarrah noted that these initiatives are crucial for empowering women and youth by providing opportunities to build capacities, strengthen leadership and media skills, and increase their participation in political, social, and economic spheres.

She elaborated on the “Women in the Local Space” project, which aims to enhance the presence of Jordanian women in public work and decision-making at the local level by developing their leadership skills and political communication abilities, thus making them key partners in the nation-building process.

Additionally, she highlighted the “Youth Media Incubator” project, which supports young people by equipping them with digital media tools and content creation skills to promote community dialogue, raise national awareness, and enhance Jordan’s image in international forums.

Al-Jarrah commended the We Rise Center for Sustainable Development’s role in supporting development initiatives, asserting that such projects are instrumental in preparing a generation capable of exerting a positive influence and driving societal change.

She further mentioned that the Lower House of Representatives prioritizes supporting modernization efforts and developing legislative frameworks that enhance the participation of women and youth across various fields, aligning with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

In her concluding remarks, Al-Jarrah expressed appreciation for every woman and young person contributing to the nation’s service, underscoring that belief in individual roles and collective action is key to building strong and stable communities.

Gaza: The Gaza Ministry of Health said that a total of three people killed and three injured arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the past 48 hours.

According to Jordan News Agency, in its daily statistical report on the number of victims and wounded as a result of the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, the ministry said that since the ceasefire took effect, the total number of people killed has reached 640, while the total number of injuries stands at 1,707. The total number of recovered bodies has reached 753 cases.
