Amman Stock Exchange Launches Enhanced Mobile App to Boost Investor Experience


Amman: Amman Stock Exchange has rolled out a major update to its mobile app “Boursa,” reflecting its commitment to providing advanced digital tools that meet investor needs and offer comprehensive access to market data, reports, and company disclosures.



According to Jordan News Agency, the update introduces enhanced features, including a revamped home page showing key indices (ASEGI general index, ASE20 top companies index, and ASETR total return index) with daily point changes, year-to-date variations, and 12-month high and low closing values, giving users a quick analytical view of market trends.



Users can now review historical events for each company and customize displayed data according to their preferences, allowing for a more interactive and flexible experience.



A new Heatmap feature visually highlights the performance of securities by relative volume and color variation, enabling quick sector and market trend tracking. Additionally, a Compact View option allows monitoring a larger number of securities simultaneously with greater efficiency.



The Amman Stock Exchange encourages investors and market followers to update the Boursa app via App Store and Google Play to benefit from this modern, data-rich, and user-friendly experience.

Israeli Forces Conduct Raids and Arrests in West Bank and Jerusalem


Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces carried out wide-scale raids and arrests across parts of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday, detaining about 20 Palestinians.



According to Jordan News Agency, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPC) reported that Israeli forces raided dozens of homes and detained residents, alleging they were “wanted.”



In Hebron, located in the southern occupied West Bank, Israeli forces demolished an inhabited residential building. The Hebron Governorate stated that forces stormed the Al-Harayiq area close to the Haggai settlement, which is built on citizens’ land south of the city, and began demolishing the site with bulldozers. The governorate detailed that the structure consisted of two adjoining buildings, with one having three floors comprising six apartments, and the other having two floors with four apartments. The demolition was carried out despite the owners holding legal documents proving land ownership, and they had already filed an objection at an Israeli court against the demolition orders.



Separately, the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department reported that dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under heavy protection by Israeli police. The department noted that settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals inside the compound, and some took part in group dancing and singing at the start of the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

At Least 38 Killed in Gas Explosion at Lead Mine in Nigeria’s Plateau State


Plateau state: At least 38 workers were killed Wednesday in a gas explosion at a lead mine in Plateau State, central Nigeria.



According to Jordan News Agency, local official Ali Adam Idris reported that 38 fatalities occurred, and approximately 27 others were transported to nearby hospitals. A miner at the site stated that the explosion took place between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. local time, confirming the death toll.

Jordan and Sudan Discuss Strengthening Municipal Ties


Amman: Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh met with Sudanese Ambassador to Jordan Hassan Saleh Suwar Al-Dahab to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Amman and Khartoum. Shawarbeh expressed the municipality’s commitment to enhancing ties, supporting joint initiatives, and leveraging municipal expertise to promote sustainable development, improve services, and raise citizens’ quality of life.



According to Jordan News Agency, the Sudanese envoy commended Amman’s efforts in building partnerships with sister cities. He noted the municipality’s progress in municipal, urban, and cultural sectors, as well as its infrastructure development plans and service enhancement projects. The ambassador expressed his government’s readiness to further cooperation and exchange expertise for the mutual benefit of the two cities.

Petra District Welcomes Ramadan with Spiritual and Community Initiatives


Petra: Areas across the Petra District have finalized preparations to receive the holy month of Ramadan, which begins Thursday, amid spiritual and social atmospheres reflecting the month’s special place in the local community. Mosques have completed arrangements for nightly prayers and religious programs, alongside a rise in charitable and volunteer initiatives organized annually by residents and youth.



According to Jordan News Agency, residents shared that the district embraces Ramadan with distinctive spiritual scenes, from decorating neighborhoods to preparing for worship, family gatherings, and social activities that strengthen solidarity and compassion among community members.



Citizen Ahmad Al-Nawafleh expressed that families are keen to prepare both their homes and hearts ahead of Ramadan, welcoming the month with joy and serenity, reflecting its deep-rooted significance in local life.



Mohammad Fudoul, an imam at one of the district’s mosques, noted that mosques have finalized Ramadan programs, including religious lessons, Quran recitation circles, and competitions for children and youth to reinforce faith-based values across age groups.



Volunteer Mohammad Al-Hilalat highlighted that local youth have begun organizing Ramadan charity campaigns, including food parcel distribution and iftar meals for families in need and travelers, emphasizing the spirit of cooperation that defines the community during the holy month.



On the tourism front, Talal Twaissi, owner of a restaurant in Petra, said tourism establishments have prepared special iftar and suhur menus inspired by local cuisine, accompanied by traditional d©cor and Ramadan ornaments. These efforts aim to allow visitors to experience the month’s spiritual ambiance while enhancing the tourism experience in the Rose City during Ramadan.

Awqaf Minister Launches Ramadan Food Aid Campaign to Support Needy Households


Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh on Wednesday launched a campaign to distribute Ramadan food parcels to the Kingdom’s underprivileged households. The initiative is implemented by Zakat Fund, in cooperation with Mohammad Abu Soufa and Partners Group.



According to Jordan News Agency, Khalayleh stated during the launch that the campaign reflects the ministry’s approach to strengthening faith-based values and promoting social solidarity by supporting impoverished and needy families, in partnership with Zakat payers and donors. He expressed gratitude towards Mohammad Abu Soufa and Partners Group and Zakat Fund for their efforts in supporting underprivileged families by providing food supplies and parcels during the holy month of Ramadan.



Khalayleh emphasized that this effort contributes to alleviating living burdens and strengthening the spirit of social solidarity. Benefactor Mohammed Abu Soufa added that the campaign will distribute 10,000 food parcels, costing JD250,000, to deserving beneficiaries through the Zakat committees in various regions of the Kingdom.
