Israeli Forces Conduct Raids and Arrests in West Bank and Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces carried out wide-scale raids and arrests across parts of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday, detaining about 20 Palestinians.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPC) reported that Israeli forces raided dozens of homes and detained residents, alleging they were “wanted.”

In Hebron, located in the southern occupied West Bank, Israeli forces demolished an inhabited residential building. The Hebron Governorate stated that forces stormed the Al-Harayiq area close to the Haggai settlement, which is built on citizens’ land south of the city, and began demolishing the site with bulldozers. The governorate detailed that the structure consisted of two adjoining buildings, with one having three floors comprising six apartments, and the other having two floors with four apartments. The demolition was carried out despite the owners holding legal documents proving land ownership, and they had already filed an objection at an Israeli court against the demolition orders.

Separately, the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department reported that dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under heavy protection by Israeli police. The department noted that settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals inside the compound, and some took part in group dancing and singing at the start of the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
