According to Jordan News Agency, speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, head coach Jamal Salami emphasized the team’s commitment to claiming all three points. “We are eager to win against a team with strong individual talents,” he said, stressing the importance of delivering their best performance to stay on course for qualification.

Midfielder Nizar Rashdan echoed the sentiment, stating, “We aim to put in a performance that meets our expectations. We fully understand the significance of this victory in keeping our World Cup dream alive. Our confidence is high, and we count on the unwavering support of our loyal fans in the stands.”

Correctional Centers Continue Ramadan Initiative to Reunite Inmates with Families

Amman: Correctional and rehabilitation centers have continued their humanitarian initiative of bringing inmates together with their families for Iftar meals and Ramadan gatherings.

According to Jordan News Agency, the administration reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out the initiative throughout the holy month, ensuring that all correctional facilities participate in fostering a familial and compassionate atmosphere for inmates and their loved ones.

GAM Declares Medium-Alert State for Weather Preparedness

Amman: The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has announced a medium-alert state, effective from Thursday morning, and will activate a light-alert state tonight, in response to the anticipated weather conditions according to meteorological reports.

According to Jordan News Agency, GAM spokesperson Nasser Rahamneh confirmed on Wednesday that the municipality’s teams are fully prepared to respond to any reports received by the emergency operations room in Tela’ Al-Ali. He urged citizens to report any observations to the unified call center at 102 or 117180.

The municipality also advised the public to exercise caution by staying away from valleys and low-lying areas, avoiding connecting rooftop drains to sewage systems to prevent road flooding, and refraining from littering, as it could clog rainwater drainage systems.

Additionally, GAM stressed the importance of checking sump pumps in basements and commercial stores below street level and urged merchants to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and basement floors.

Contractors and construction project owners were also advised to secure building materials to prevent them from being washed away and causing blockages in rainwater drainage systems.

Social Development Minister Joins Tkiyet Um Ali’s Iftar for Needy Families

Amman: Minister of Social Development, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, participated on Wednesday in the Ramadan iftar hosted by “Tkiyet Um Ali” for poor and needy families. Bani Mustafa emphasized that the iftar events organized during Ramadan embody the social values of solidarity and compassion, bringing together members of the Jordanian community.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Minister highlighted that these family-oriented iftar gatherings alleviate burdens on needy families by providing them with meals. She also underscored the significant humanitarian efforts made by “Tkiyet Um Ali” for the Palestinian people, aligning with the Kingdom’s efforts to address challenges faced by the people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Bani Mustafa noted the continued success of the charity’s programs and the increasing public support through donations, reflecting the trust the Jordanian community places in its efforts. “Tkiyet Um Ali” has been organizing Iftar meals for needy families throughout Ramadan for years, offering complete meals and distributing food parcels to deserving families across the Kingdom during the holy month and throughout the year.

Jordan Valley Authority Declares Emergency Due to Anticipated Flood Risks

Amman: The Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) announced Wednesday a state of emergency to manage the weather system and the expected formation of floods in valley streams, as well as rising water levels in water gathering areas. JVA confirmed in a statement that the necessary measures have been taken, including activating the emergency plan across all departments in the northern, central, and southern Jordan Valley regions, as well as the control department and all its related sites.

According to Jordan News Agency, the JVA highlighted that preparedness of personnel, machinery, and equipment has been raised to address the needs of citizens in different areas, including all dam sites across the Kingdom. The authority urged citizens, farmers, and livestock breeders to take all necessary precautions to protect lives and property, emphasizing the importance of staying away from water gathering areas, dams, and valley streams. Citizens were also advised to follow official weather reports.

JVA added that its on-call teams in all valley departments will work around the clock to ensure a swift and effective response to all emergencies and to manage developments related to the prevailing weather conditions. Ministry of Youth Hosts Iftar, Commends Royal Attention Given to Youth

Amman: The Ministry of Youth organized a Ramadan Iftar on Wednesday at the Hussein Youth City, with the presence of Youth Minister Yazan Shdeifat. During the event, Shdeifat emphasized the royal care given to youth and the Prime Minister’s follow-up on various youth programs and files, affirming the government’s support for implementing youth priorities in line with the royal directives outlined in the government’s mandate.

According to Jordan News Agency, Shdeifat highlighted the importance of improving the youth work system through the development of programs, infrastructure, and the empowerment of those working with youth by equipping them with the necessary skills for youth work.

Shdeifat stressed the need for collaborative efforts to implement both local and Arab youth programs, especially the activities for Amman as the Arab Youth Capital, the launch of the Arab Youth, Peace, and Security strategy, and the third edition of the King Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Work.
