Hebron - Together - This morning, unknown persons robbed a bank branch in the town of Tarqumiya, west of Hebron, and managed to escape. A video circulated showed two people on a motorcycle fleeing in front of the bank. A person also appeared carrying a firearm in his hands and standing in front of the bank. Police media spokesman, Colonel Louay Irziqat, reported that since the beginning of this year, 13 robbery crimes have occurred targeting banks, merchants, and citizens. The police and security services have uncovered 9 cases, 70% of which, and work is still ongoing to uncover 4 cases that are still being followed up. Irziqat reported that, compared to the first half of the year 2023, the number of burglary crimes reached 6, of which 3 were completed, and there is follow-up to uncover the other 3, with a noticeable increase of 116% in the year 2024. Irziqat stated that robbery crimes for the year 2024 were concentrated in Ramallah and amounted to 5 crimes, in Bethlehem 3, Hebron 2, the suburbs of Jerus alem 2, and Tulkarm 1, and in the first half of the year 2023 they were concentrated in Hebron, where 3 cases were recorded, Jericho 1, Nablus 1, and in Jenin 1.
