Amman: Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Qudah, has announced the appointment of Dana Zoubi, the ministry’s Secretary-General, as the Acting CEO of the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), alongside her current responsibilities.
According to Jordan News Agency, JEDCO plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and promoting entrepreneurship within the Kingdom. The corporation offers an array of services such as technical and advisory assistance, financial grants for startups and growing businesses, facilitation of market access, and support for innovation, research, and development.
JEDCO’s 2025-2027 strategic plan is set to concentrate on high-value industries with the objective of increasing their contribution to the national GDP by at least 5 percent. The plan also emphasizes the promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation, and rural development to boost self-employment, as well as the registration and sustainability of new businesses.
Over the next three years, JEDCO’s support initiatives will focus on two primary groups: micro, small, and medium enterprises through the “Tatweer” (Develop) program, and individuals with entrepreneurial ideas through the “Start Your Project” initiative. The corporation intends to enhance its financial support, offering up to JD50,000 in funding, contingent upon applicants meeting the necessary guarantees for the successful execution of their business plans.
