Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, met with the Gulf Water Sciences and Technology Association (WSTA) board of directors' chairman Eng. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the GCC General Secretariat and the association in the areas of water and its technologies to find sustainable solutions to increasing water challenges. Albudaiwi affirmed that the leaders of the GCC countries attach great importance to the water sector due to its significance in the economic development of the GCC countries. He highlighted the necessity of regional and international cooperation in addressing water scarcity and climate change. The GCC Secretary General also commended WSTA for promoting knowledge and awareness of water and its technologies in the GCC countries through organizing specialized conferences and seminars and supporting research and studies in the field.
