Member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Saleh Al-Nuaimi, and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Hussein Hazeb, inaugurated the activities of the Sixth Sheba Dental Conference in the capital Sana’a on Tuesday.
The three-day conference, organized by the University of Sheba and attended by more than 700 scholars, experts, professors, and dental graduates from various Yemeni universities, will discuss 40 papers and scientific lectures on the latest findings of science and new technologies in treating atrophied teeth, jaw fractures, endodontic and restorative treatments, fixed and mobile fixtures, orthodontic problems, missing children’s teeth, and modern gum disease methods.
At the opening, Al-Nuaimi praised the efforts of the University of Sheba and its continued holding of the Scientific Dentistry Conference in its sixth session.
He stressed the importance of holding scientific conferences in universities to keep abreast of the new developments the world is witnessing in the fields of medicine and technology and contribute to the evaluation and development of their scientific, academic, and research performance and their reflection on the development of services to the community.
For his part, the Minister of Higher Education praised Sheba University’s keenness to keep abreast of developments, especially in the field of dentistry.
Hazeb called for arranging scientific and medical conferences to be at the national level, stressing the need for universities to obtain national accreditation to ensure international accreditation.
He explained that the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, and the National Salvation Government have approved 500 million riyals to qualify and train 500 masters and doctoral cadres in stages to ensure keeping pace with global developments.
