MP Mashaqbeh Elected to Senior Posts in Asian Parliamentary Assembly

Manama: Jordanian MP Ismail Mashaqbeh was elected Vice President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) and Chair of its Political Committee during the assembly's regular meeting held in Manama from Jan. 25-28, as the Kingdom of Bahrain assumed the APA's presidency.

According to Jordan News Agency, Mashaqbeh stated that the election reflects confidence and underscores the growing position of the Jordanian Parliament on the Asian parliamentary stage.

Mashaqbeh emphasized that under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, Jordan continues to play a role in promoting parliamentary dialogue and entrenching cooperation among states. He described this achievement as a culmination of years of sustained parliamentary and political work, affirming his commitment to collaborating with Asian parliaments to serve Arab causes, enhance peace and stability, and support just causes, especially the Palestinian cause.
