Jordan and UK Forces Successfully Conclude “Olive Grove” Joint Military Drill


Amman: The joint military exercise dubbed “Olive Grove,” conducted by the Khalid bin Al-Waleed Brigade / 15 in collaboration with British forces, concluded its activities at the designated training area. The exercise wrapped up with a closing ceremony attended by the brigade commander and the assistant commander of the British Armed Forces in Cyprus.

According to Jordan News Agency, the drill involved field exercises simulating combat in built-up areas. The activities included the deployment of various types of weapons and management of fortified positions and defensive trenches, all following specific operational scenarios.

The four-week exercise is a part of the joint training programs implemented by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army. It aims to enhance operational preparedness, strengthen combat capabilities, and facilitate the exchange of military expertise with allied and friendly nations.

Jordan Securities Commission Approves Registration of Capital Global Investment Fund


Amman: The Jordan Securities Commission announced that its Board of Commissioners approved the registration of the Capital Global Investment Fund, established by the Jordanian Investment and Brokerage Company last Wednesday.



According to Jordan News Agency, the fund was established as part of the Capital Market Development and Revitalisation Initiative, a key component of the second executive programme of the Economic Modernisation Vision (2026-2029).



The launch of mutual investment funds is among the government’s objectives to deepen the capital market, broaden participation and diversify investment instruments and products.



The Capital Global Investment Fund is an open-ended mutual investment fund with an initial capital of JOD2 million and a maximum investment ceiling of JOD50 million. It aims to provide investors in the Kingdom with indirect investment opportunities through specialised fund management that allocates assets across a diversified range of financial instruments.



The fund focuses on investments in local and international equity markets, as well as fixed-income instruments such as bonds, in carefully determined proportions. It allocates part of its assets to money market instruments, achieving a balance between return and risk.



The commission said the launch of the fund supports efforts to enhance confidence in the Jordanian capital market, offer diversified investment options and encourage greater participation by individuals and institutions, in line with the goals of economic modernisation and sustainable growth.

Al-Istiqlal Club Athletes Post Strong Results at Dubai International Marathon


Dubai: Athletes from Al-Istiqlal Club delivered strong performances at the Dubai International Marathon, one of the world’s leading internationally ranked road races, competing against a high-caliber field of elite local and international runners.



According to Jordan News Agency, club athlete Heba Hammoud secured a podium finish in the 10-kilometer race, placing third with a time of 37 minutes and 5 seconds, reinforcing her competitive standing at international events.



In the full marathon, Mohammad Al-Sheikh recorded a new personal best, cutting 13 minutes off his previous time to finish in 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 54 seconds in a race marked by intense competition.



The Dubai International Marathon is widely regarded as one of the strongest road races globally, known for its professional organization, high technical standards, and consistent participation by elite runners.



Al-Istiqlal Club’s management credited the results to the technical preparation led by national coach Hamdan Al-Muhaisen, alongside team captain Ahmad Muhaisen, citing their role in athlete development and race readiness.



The club also praised the event’s organization and hospitality, commending the efforts of the marathon’s general coordinator, Ahmed Al-Kamali, in delivering a successful international sporting event.

King, Egypt President Hold Talks in Cairo on Arab Stability and Palestinian Cause


Cairo: His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi held talks on Sunday, focusing on the importance of strengthening joint Arab action to restore stability to the region, according to a royal court statement.



According to Jordan News Agency, during bilateral talks followed by expanded ones at Al Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo, the two leaders emphasised the need to maintain coordination and consultation in order to achieve mutual goals and serve Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian cause.



The two leaders stressed the need to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement in its entirety, facilitate the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and expedite recovery and reconstruction efforts. His Majesty commended Egypt’s role in mediating the agreement to end the war.



Regarding the West Bank, the two leaders reaffirmed Jordan and Egypt’s firm rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people, and their condemnation of all violations and arbitrary actions against them.



His Majesty also warned of the consequences of repeated attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.



Discussions addressed the overall situation in the region, with both leaders emphasising the importance of de-escalation and resolving crises through peaceful means. The two leaders underscored the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of countries, as well as the preservation of their resources.



During the talks, the two leaders affirmed the depth of Jordanian-Egyptian relations, and their commitment to expanding cooperation in various fields, particularly through the Jordan-Egypt Joint Higher Committee.



For his part, the Egyptian president highlighted the special ties that bind Egypt and Jordan, and the importance of strengthening them in ways that support the interests and aspirations of the two countries and their peoples.



Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meeting.

Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Committee Moves to Activate Diplomacy, Sets Action Plan


Amman: Jordanian and Saudi lawmakers moved to operationalize parliamentary diplomacy on Sunday as the Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee agreed on a framework to activate its work and set priorities for the next phase of cooperation. The meeting, chaired by MP Abdul Baset Al-Kabariti, focused on translating bilateral ties into structured parliamentary coordination across legislative, oversight, and policy areas, in parallel with official diplomatic channels.



According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Kabariti said the committee’s agenda centers on strengthening parliamentary coordination to support joint Arab positions and contribute to regional security, stability, and development, reflecting the strategic depth of relations between Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Discussions addressed mechanisms for sustained consultation, exchange of legislative expertise, and the identification of priority files for the coming period, with an emphasis on improving performance and delivering tangible outcomes from parliamentary engagement.



Committee members MPs Mohammad Al-Marayeh and Ibrahim Al-Jbour stressed the importance of maintaining direct and continuous communication between the Jordanian House of Representatives and the Saudi Shura Council. They said closer parliamentary alignment would support shared interests, facilitate coordination on regional and international issues, and reinforce the advanced level of relations between the two countries.

Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held a phone call on Sunday with the newly appointed Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Al Sabah, congratulating him on assuming his new duties. During this conversation, both ministers emphasized the deep-rooted and historical ties between their nations and expressed a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral relations across multiple fields.
