Amman: Under royal directives, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), sent an aid convoy carrying food and medical supplies to Syria on Wednesday. This initiative reflects Jordan’s commitment to supporting neighboring countries facing crises.
According to Jordan News Agency, the aid to southern Syria was dispatched just hours after Jordanian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip, underscoring the Kingdom’s dedication to supporting “our Arab brothers during these exceptional circumstances.” The JHCO Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, highlighted the organization’s coordination with the Syrian government to deliver relief aid through the Jaber/Nassib border crossing, ensuring distribution via the Syrian Red Crescent.
The convoy, consisting of 10 trucks loaded at JHCO warehouses, included a variety of food items, such as flour, alongside medicines and medical supplies. Shibli emphasized that this emergency aid aims to assist the people of Syria, who have experienced challenging conditions following last week’s violent events.
Shibli also reiterated the strong brotherly relations and neighborly ties between Jordan and Syria, affirming Jordan’s steadfast support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity.
