Jordan Condemns Settler Attacks on Diplomats and Palestinians in West Bank

Taybeh:The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs has condemned attacks by Israeli settlers on a European diplomatic delegation, including diplomats from Belgium, France, and Poland, as well as Palestinian farmers, representatives of the Catholic Church, and journalists in the town of Taybeh, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry held Israel responsible for the attacks as the occupying power. Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Majali expressed Jordan's absolute rejection and condemnation of the attacks, labeling them as terrorist acts by the settlers. He stated that these incidents reflect the policies of Israel's far-right government and occur amid ongoing unlawful measures in the occupied West Bank, which contribute to extremism and violence against Palestinians, undermining the prospects for peace based on the two-state solution.

Majali called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by compelling Israel to stop settler terrorism and attacks against Palestinians, diplomats, religious figures, and journalists. He emphasized the need for accountability for those responsible and the importance of securing the legitimate rights of Palestinians, particularly the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that this is essential for achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
