Amman: The Ministry of Social Development has released its achievements report for March, outlining the key services provided during this period.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry received 154 applications for exemption from medical expenses and processed 141 requests related to settling heirs’ rights. Additionally, 609 requests for work permit exemptions for non-Jordanian employees were addressed.
The report detailed that 39 children were placed in foster care homes, while 44 were discharged, 7 were handed over to foster families, and 4 nurseries received licenses. Moreover, 187 juveniles benefited from the ministry’s juvenile rehabilitation and education facilities, with 75 receiving vocational rehabilitation. In addition, 37 children working under conditions violating legislation received psychological and social services, and 6 juveniles were provided with legal aid services.
The ministry highlighted that these efforts were facilitated by field directorates and psychological and social support offices, in collaboration with partner agencies and organizations. The report also mentioned that the number of registered and existing associations under the applicable Associations Law reached 6,099, with 22 new entities added.
According to the National Aid Fund (NAF)’s report, 1,411 families received aid through regular and immediate emergency financial aid programs, while 47,728 households benefitted from monthly financial assistance. The NAF also noted that 85 families participated in a training program, and their response rate to calls was 88%.
In efforts to combat vagrancy, the report disclosed that 971 campaigns were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 1,386 beggars, both male and female.
