Income Department Earns ISO Certification for Business Continuity Management

Amman: The Income and Sales Tax Department has been awarded the ISO 22301:2019 certification for Business Continuity Management, a significant international recognition that underscores the department’s preparedness to maintain operations during emergencies and crises.

According to Jordan News Agency, ISO 22301 is the global standard for Business Continuity Management Systems, providing a structured approach to identifying and mitigating potential threats to institutions. The certification outlines the necessary measures to reduce the risk of incidents, limit their impacts, and establish a recovery framework for effective response and recovery.

This certification highlights the department’s efforts in planning, analysis, and evaluation of potential risks, as well as its commitment to enhancing its ability to recover swiftly and manage incidents with efficiency and organization.

Hussam Abu Ali, Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, emphasized that the certification reflects the department’s dedication to ensuring business continuity and its capacity to handle emergencies in an orderly and systematic manner. He also noted that the achievement strengthens public trust in the department’s ability to provide consistent and reliable services, even in challenging situations.

The certification was awarded after a thorough audit process, in which the certifying authority confirmed the department’s successful implementation of the business continuity management system and its compliance with the ISO 22301 standard.

Results of 2024 Tawjihi Complementary Session Announced

Amman: The Ministry of Education announced on Thursday the results of the complementary session for the 2024 General Secondary Certificate Examination, commonly known as Tawjihi.

According to Jordan News Agency, a total of 83,223 test takers registered for this session. Among them, 70,864 students aimed to complete the pass requirements, while 12,359 sought to improve their overall average.

The ministry reported that 72,630 students attended the exam. Out of these, 41,957 students achieved the minimum pass requirements, resulting in a general pass percentage of 57.8%.

For the academic stream, 63,499 students took the exams, with 36,034 students passing, which accounts for a pass rate of 56.7%. In the vocational stream, 9,131 applicants participated, and 5,923 of them successfully passed, resulting in a higher pass rate of 64.9%.

Death Toll from Israeli Aggression on Gaza Surpasses 47,000

Gaza City: The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that 43 people, including 42 dead bodies recovered from under the rubble and one individual who died from injuries, have been added to the death toll in the past 24 hours. In addition, 9 injuries were reported in the last 24 hours.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry’s daily report on casualties from the Israeli aggression indicated that the total number of deaths since October 7, 2023, has risen to 47,460, with 111,580 individuals injured.

In a separate incident, a Palestinian child was killed today in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, after being shot by Israeli occupation forces.
