Swiss Jordanian Business Club Celebrates 20 Years of Economic Partnership

Amman:The Swiss Jordanian Business Club (SJBC) celebrated its 20th anniversary with a dinner in Amman, marking two decades of fostering economic ties, trade partnerships, and institutional exchanges between Switzerland and Jordan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the event gathered over 80 dignitaries, including government ministers, foreign ambassadors, business leaders, corporate executives, and industry stakeholders.

During the celebration, SJBC President Adnan Talhouni and Swiss Ambassador to Jordan Emilija Georgieva reflected on the progress since the Club's founding and emphasized the enduring commercial synergy between the two countries. Ambassador Georgieva praised Jordan for its highly educated workforce, strategic regional location, and economic resilience, while noting Switzerland's strengths in research and development, connectivity, and industrial quality standards.

The SJBC was established in 2006 with the endorsement of the Swiss Embassy, initiated by private-sector leaders to enhance commercial engagement, promote institutional dialogue, and open cross-border investment opportunities.

The Swiss Embassy reported that the bilateral trade between the two nations reached approximately CHF 850 million (JOD 726 million) in 2025, supported by active Swiss operations in Jordan's key growth sectors such as pharmaceuticals, tourism, and hospitality.

Looking forward to its third decade, the Club reiterated its dedication to being a primary facilitator for private-sector cooperation, exploring new trade avenues, and enhancing bilateral commercial integration.
