Royal Medical Services Boosted by 2025 Medical Capacity Project

Amman: The Royal Medical Services (RMS) recently took receipt of the 2025 Operational Capacity Project, a key initiative carried out by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

According to Jordan News Agency, RMS Director General, Brig. Gen. Sahel Hammouri, highlighted the significance of the Japanese grant, emphasizing its role in enhancing the partnership and international cooperation supporting Jordan's healthcare sector. He noted that the project will strengthen the operations of RMS hospitals and improve the quality and efficiency of care provided. Hammouri reaffirmed the RMS's commitment to its mission of delivering comprehensive and high-quality medical care.

Japanese Ambassador Hideki Asari expressed that the project will enhance the RMS's capacity to tackle challenges in Jordan's health sector. He underscored the importance of the cooperation between the two nations in improving medical and treatment services for patients and visitors.

UNOPS representative Suela Krifsa stated that the project has provided essential equipment to improve access to healthcare services. This effort is part of a long-term partnership with the Government of Japan to support the RMS.

The project, funded by the Japanese government, includes the provision of X-ray machines, dialysis units, operating tables, hospital beds, and electrocardiogram devices, all aimed at boosting the operational capacity of the RMS.
