Palestinian envoy lauds Jordan’s efforts to stop Israeli aggression

Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan, Atallah Khairy, highly appreciated the official and popular Jordanian stance towards developments in the Palestinian territories, in light of the continued Israeli aggression for the second week in a row, based on the “scorched-land” policy, by using the latest, most lethal and destructive types of weapons, including internationally prohibited ammunition.

In a press statement on Sunday, he said: “Jordan stood by our people in their ordeal, who face the most powerful machines of mass killing and demolition of buildings, and infrastructure.”

Since the first day of the Israeli military aggression against Palestinian people, the envoy said His Majesty has been making “remarkable” efforts to stop the aggression on the international, regional and Arab levels.

To alleviate Palestinians’ suffering, the diplomat praised His Majesty King Abdullah II’s direct directives to send various medical and in-kind aid by operating a Jordanian air bridge to the Palestinian territories as soon as possible.

Highlighting the King’s generous stances in all circumstances, he referred to the Jordanian field hospitals in the Gaza Strip and a number of West Bank cities that have been operating there for years.

The Palestinian people and its leadership are proud of Jordan’s positions and its people who showed solidarity and historically defended Palestine and provided all material and moral support to the Palestinian steadfast people resisting the occupation and its aggression, the envoy told the press.

The envoy said Jordan’s stance in support of Palestinian people in these “difficult” circumstances confirms the “deep-rooted, brotherly” ties in all fields.

In this regard, Khairy lauded Jordan’s close attention to the just Palestinian cause, especially the issue of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities, voicing support to the Hashemite guardianship over the holy sites, which preserved Jerusalem’s Arab-Islamic identity over the past decades.
