NCSCM unveils new measures to respond to coronavirus variant Omicron

The Crisis Cell at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on Sunday announced a new set of additional measures to control any potential breakout of the new coronavirus variant Omicron in the Kingdom.

The new procedures place restrictions on everyone who resided in the countries of South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Botswana during the 14 days preceding their travel to the Kingdom.

With regard to Jordanians and their families (husbands / wives / children), they are allowed to travel to the Kingdom through the Queen Alia International Airport only and according to the following requirements:

They must register on the www.gateway2jordan.gov.jo platform before arriving in the Kingdom and submit a negative PCR examination conducted 72 hours prior to travel to the Kingdom, with the exception of children under five.

Upon arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport, they must undergo a PCR examination, with the exception of children under five, and sign an institutional quarantine undertaking with the counter employee at the airport of departure.

They must also pre-pay the cost of the institutional quarantine at the Queen Alia International Airport Hotel for a period of 14 days prior to travel.

With regard to non-Jordanians, the center said that they are not allowed to travel to the Kingdom if they have stayed in one of the above countries during the 14 days preceding their travel to the Kingdom.

The center warned that travelers will bear legal responsibility if they provide misleading or false information, in addition to a fine of 10,000 dinars.
