Media Network Hosts Human Rights Exhibition Celebrating Declaration Anniversary

AMMAN: In commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Community Media Network organized a human rights bazaar themed “Committed to Human Rights for a Better Life.” The event, supported by the European Union, brought together various human rights organizations to stress the importance of maintaining international humanitarian standards and to educate the public on their rights across multiple domains.

According to Jordan News Agency, Daoud Kuttab, the director general of the Community Media Network, underscored the necessity of adhering to international justice and humanitarian law, stating, “Our adherence to human rights is an affirmation that international justice and international humanitarian law must be the only compass we cling to, no matter how much war criminals try to ignore them.” The bazaar aimed to highlight the ongoing commitment to human rights despite regional challenges.

Ataf Al Roudhan, Director General of Radio Al Balad, emphasized the significanc
e of celebrating International Human Rights Day, noting the persistent abuses and marginalization faced in the region. He stated, “Our dedication to these principles is essential, and we work to guarantee everyone’s equal rights in all spheres of life.”

Angela Martini, the Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union Mission in Jordan, expressed her satisfaction with the event’s turnout, particularly the engagement of children in learning about their rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Rawan Nakhleh, a member of the working group, highlighted the Community Media Network’s goal of supporting media professionals and providing attendees with educational resources to enhance their understanding of human rights.
