Prince Mired and Finance Minister Discuss Disability Rights and Upcoming Summit

AMMAN: His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Raad, Chief Secretary and President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, convened a meeting with Minister of Finance Abdul Hakim Al-Shibli at the Council’s headquarters. The meeting focused on reviewing the Council’s initiatives and preparations for the Third World Disability Summit in Berlin, scheduled for 2025, which Jordan is co-organizing with Germany and the International Disability Alliance.

According to Jordan News Agency, Prince Mired detailed the Council’s work under the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, highlighting the importance of enhancing inclusive policies across various government sectors. The discussions underscored the necessity for improved implementation of these policies to ensure greater integration of people with disabilities.

Finance Minister Al-Shibli commended the efforts of Prince Mired and the Council in formulating policies and strategies aimed at facilitating the integration of people with d
isabilities into the workforce. He also reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to addressing the needs of people with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of their inclusion in diverse professional fields.
