Media Group from Gulf Cooperation Council Visits Petra to Enhance Cooperation

Petra: Jordan News Agency (Petra) Director General Fairouz Mubaideen Saturday welcomed a team of news agencies from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to discuss ways of enhancing mutual cooperation and the exchange of expertise. Mubaideen emphasized the importance of maintaining accuracy and objectivity in official news agencies’ reporting, highlighting that these values should not be sacrificed for the sake of speed in delivering scoops or exclusive stories.

According to Jordan News Agency, today’s meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen the exchange of news publishing between Arab news agencies, with a particular focus on Petra and the Gulf News Agencies. Mubaideen underscored the importance of continued cooperation to enhance Arab media work.

During the meeting, members of the GCC team shared their agencies’ experiences in digital media, addressing the specific needs and interests of their respective outlets to maximize readership. The visit also included a tour of Petra’s various departments, where the journalists were briefed on the editorial process and the different stages of media work. This included gathering information, story writing, editing, and proofreading before publication, with the journalists commending Petra’s professionalism and accuracy.
