Aside from economic aspects, Ismayatim said Malaysia and Jordan are also cooperating in various areas of mutual interest, which include among others, agriculture, manufacturing, Islamic Banking and Finance, health, tourism, defence, education, transport, science and technology, youth and sports.

Jordan is one of the recipients of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) since 1986. As of July 2022, a total of 482 Jordanian participants have enrolled various programmes under the MTCP, the diplomat noted.

On this note, she said Malaysia is glad to hear that the participants have benefited from the programmes though it was held online due to the pandemic. Recently, on 30 August 2022, the Embassy hosted all 40 Jordanian MTCP alumni who had successfully completed their programmes this year.

In the area of education, she expressed pleasure to announce that currently there are 1,224 Malaysian students studying in various universities in Jordan, and another 610 students will be coming to Jordan later this month to further their study on various courses such Arabic language, Islamic studies, Islamic banking and medicines.

On the other hand, she said there are about 1,606 Jordanian students studying in various courses across universities in Malaysia.

She also voiced pleasure to inform that Education Malaysia Jordan, under its Research@EducationMalaysia4U initiative, has matched 81 research projects between Malaysia and Jordan to enhance research collaboration between academicians.
