Makkah: In preparation for the 1445H Hajj season, the Holy Capital Municipality established five strategic parking lots at the entrances to Makkah. These lots are located on the main roads leading into the city, including the Makkah-Jeddah Expressway, the Madinah Road, Al-Leith Road, the Taif Al-Sail Road, and the Taif Al-Kur Road. With a total capacity of approximately 45,000 vehicles, these lots will help alleviate traffic congestion in the city and facilitate the movement of pilgrims. The municipality has equipped these parking lots with all the necessary facilities and services to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims. These facilities include paving, landscaping, lighting, signage, and ongoing cleaning services. Additionally, 450 directional signs and 180 lighting towers have been installed to ensure easy access and guidance for pilgrims. These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan to restrict vehicles from entering Makkah and the holy sites during the Hajj season, aiming to facilitate the movem ent of pilgrims and reduce traffic congestion. The municipality participates in a supervisory committee that includes several government agencies, such as the Traffic Department and the Ministry of Transport, to monitor the efficient operation of these parking lots and ensure the best possible services for pilgrims.
