KSrelief Launches Food Aid Distribution Project for Displaced People in Al-Mahrah Governorate

The King Salman Humanitarian and Relief Centre (KSrelief) launched a food aid program for refugees in Al-Mahrah district of Yemen yesterday. The aim of this project is to distribute 1,129 food baskets containing essential supplies, benefiting 7,903 individuals who are in urgent need of assistance, particularly in areas such as Al Ghaydah, Haswayn, and Al-Messila.

The Secretary-General of Al-Mahrah Local Council, Salim Abdallah, commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and relief efforts, specifically through KSrelief, across all Yemeni governorates, with a particular focus on Al-Mahrah Governorate.

This initiative aims to provide 179,982 food baskets on a regular basis every two months, catering to emergency situations in Marib, Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Al-Jowf, Al-Hudaydah, Socotra, Hajjah, and Sa’dah. It is a direct result of the global food relief campaign for displaced and affected individuals in Yemen in 2023.
